Financial need Scholarships

  The Mideast Early Music Workshop is able to offer limited scholarships to those in financial need.   


Marilyn Carlson Memorial Scholarship for Educators

Marilyn Carlson, founder of the Mideast Early Music Workshop, was dedicated to promoting the Recorder and the glorious music of earlier times.  In her honor,  the Workshop offers a full commuter scholarship to Pittsburgh area educators who incorporate the Recorder into their class curriculum.

American Recorder Society Scholarships

Scholarships are  available from the American Recorder Society to any ARS member. 


American Recorder Society members are invited to apply for scholarships to weekend and week long workshops. Scholarships are available to players of all ages and ability levels. Applicants may join the ARS at a special ½ price rate if not already a member.

The deadline to apply is May 15 for summer workshops, with maximum awards of $500 for week long workshops.
