What is my playing level on Recorder?

What happens if I am uncomfortable in a class?

            We will gladly place you in a different class. 


When does enrollment open?

      Enrollment opens  On-line in February. 


When does enrollment end?

      Registrations are accepted until July 5, 2024.  A $200 deposit is required at registration to secure your place. 

      The Balance must be paid, either on-line, or by check by July 5, 2024


Can I cancel if I can not attend?

      You may cancel for a full refund until July 5, 2024

       Full refunds available if you must cancel at anytime for reasons related to Covid.


Are Scholarships available?

       Limited scholarships are available for financial need, from both the American Recorder Society and Mideast.  Please visit the Scholarship Page for         more information.


Can I enroll without room and board?

      Yes. Enroll as a  Commuter 


Can Commuters purchase meals as desired?

      Yes, you should pre-pay for your desired number of meals when you register.


Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the campus and in all dorm rooms.


What is a Semi-Private Room?

      A dorm room with 2 beds, a refrigerator/microwave, Wi-Fi,  and a private bath within the room.   Bring your own sheets (twin XL size), blankets and towels. (Linens can be provided  for an extra fee if you can not bring your own.)    You will have a roommate to share the room and bath.  You may choose your room mate when you register, or we will select one for you if you prefer.


What is a Private Room?

        A dorm room with a private bath, refrigerator/microwave and Wi-Fi. You will not have a roommate.    Bring your own sheets (twin XL size), blankets and towels.   (Linens can be provided for an extra fee if you can not bring your own.)

 

Tell me more about the Accommodations

        - We are housed in college dormitory rooms. 

        -All facilities are air-conditioned.  We suggest you bring an extra blanket and clothing layers to be comfortable in the air conditioning.

        -Lighting is adequate in most rooms.  Battery powered stand lights may be helpful in some areas.

        -All rooms on campus are accessible via elevator.

        -Rooms with handicap accessible bathrooms are available. 

       - Free laundry facilities are available in the dorm, lower level. You must bring your own laundry soap.


Tell me about Meals

         -Meals are served in the LaRoche dining room, buffet style.  There is enough variety to meet most needs. 

        - Meal service includes  Sunday Supper,  Breakfast, Lunch & Supper Monday thru Friday, and Breakfast on Saturday.   

        - Commuters should purchase desired meals when they register

         -Sunday evening:   Everyone Commuters, Residents and Faculty - are invited to the Sunday evening Welcome Supper Party.


Can I have a dorm room, but no meals?

     Usually not. Vegetarians and those with special diets have found the regular menu offerings to be adequate. The dining service works with us to meet everyone's needs.


Can I arrive early for the Workshop?

      Yes, you can arrive on Saturday, if desired.  Select the registration option for an "extra" day for the dorm room, and e-mail the workshop with your arrival time.   Note there is no Saturday meal available, however there are many restaurants in the area to chose from.


Can I arrive late (post Check in)?

      Yes. Let us know your approximate arrival time prior to the workshop.


Transportation to/from airport, bus and train?

      Arrangements can be made with Uber for transportation. 

 

Can I enroll for part of the week?

       No, the Workshop is for the entire week


Can my spouse or friend have room and board without enrolling in the workshop? 

      Yes, in a Semi-private room with you.  They are also invited to attend the evening concerts.


Must I register on-line?

        If you cannot register on-line, please contact the Workshop via e-mail or phone.


What should I remember to bring?

       Bring your instruments!  Bring a Music stand. Bring an extra music stand!  Consider bringing a battery powered stand light and extra batteries .

       Bring music for casual music making with fellow students. The air-conditioning is robust, so bring layers and an extra blanket.
